  • What is Clinton Sailing Club (CSC)?Clinton Sailing Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting safe, active, and fun community sailing.
  • What is CSC’s mission?Our mission is to create a program open to all local kids ages 8-18, regardless of income level.
  • What kid’s programs does CSC offer?CSC offers kid’s beginner & intermediate sailing at Clinton Town Beach. In summer 2017, our ½ day, week-long sessions ran Monday to Friday from June 19th – August 25th.
  • What boats do you teach on?Younger kids learn on Laser Bugs, older kids on Flying Juniors (FJs), and Adult & Family Sailing is taught on our new RS Quest training dinghies. Check out CSC’s fleet fundraising to learn about our future plans.
  • What are Sailorships?Sailorships are “sailing scholarships” for Clinton kids ages 8-18. Our main criteria is financial need; you can apply here or donate here ($250 per Sailorship)!
  • Do you offer Adult & Family Lessons?In summer 2017 CSC was excited to introduce Adult & Family Lessons. These 4-day lessons were spread over 2 weekends and were a big hit. Check back with us in 2018 to learn to sail with your family & friends!
  • Does CSC offer Women’s Sailing?We sure do! Women’s Lessons also launched in summer 2017. This was a supportive class focused on safety, learning, and fun. We sold out and plan to offer more lessons in in 2018!
  • How about Veteran’s Sailing?FREE sailing for veterans is offered by our sister organization Pay4ward. Learn more or donate today!
  • Will you offer other programs in future?In future we plan to explore Senior lessons, Club Racing, Adaptive Sailing, and a Community Sailing Program. What would you like CSC to offer? Let us know!
  • Who are your Instructors?CSC hires experienced instructors to give you the best possible learning experience. All our instructors are US Sailing Level 1 Instructor certified or equivalent.
  • Who runs CSC?CSC is run by our volunteer Board of Directors. We are a group of people who care about Clinton kids and love sailing!
  • How can I get involved?We are currently looking for new Board members with experience in fundraising, finance, and law. We also need volunteers for our Junior Instructor and Shore Power programs. Or donate today to help fund our programs!
  • Who are Junior Instructors?Junior Instructors are teens age 13+ who volunteer to help run our kid’s summer program. They learn about leadership, coaching, and teamwork. It’s a great way to gain confidence and become a better sailor. Learn more and apply today!
  • What is Shore Power?Shore Power is our land-based adult volunteer team. If a kid needs a break or gets hurt, Shore Power is there to help. We offer discounted and free lessons in return for volunteering. First Aid/CPR required. This is the most fun volunteer job on the Shoreline! Learn more and apply today!
